Making School Affordable
We recognize that investing in an independent school education requires considerable thought and planning.
At Green Vale we believe that a formative PN-8th grade education is an investment in your child's life long learning, and we are committed to helping families afford a private school education. While families are expected to contribute towards the cost of a Green Vale education, 20% of Green Vale students do receive financial assistance, based on their demonstrated need.
If you are interested in learning more, we encourage you to reach out to the Office of Admission or our Director of Finance, Richard Hirt.
In addition to structuring our tuition as all-inclusive, there are a number of other avenues to make Green Vale more accessible:
Flexible Payment Options
Green Vale offers a number of flexible payment schedules through Blackbaud Tuition Management. Tuition may be paid annually, semi-annually, or structured over ten months with automatic deductions from a checking account or credit card.
529 Plans
The IRS permits up to a $10,000 annual distribution from 529 accounts to finance private school education (K-12). Please consult your financial advisor for details.
Tuition Assistance
If you value the benefits of an independent school education, but have concerns about affordability, please consider the following:
- Applications for admission are considered on a need-blind basis.
- Each year Green Vale awards over $1.8 million in tuition assistance.
- Students entering Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade are eligible.
- 20% of current Green Vale families receive some tuition assistance.
- All families contribute some portion of tuition.
- Recipients must demonstrate financial need each year.
Applying for Assistance
To be considered for financial aid, families must apply through the School and Student Services (SSS) platform. The information reported in the SSS application will provide our financial aid committee with a recommendation of how much a family can contribute. Families pay all incidental expenses and any tuition not covered by the financial aid award.
All family and financial information received is held in the strictest confidence.
Tuition Insurance
Many families want to know that their tuition investment is protected should unexpected circumstances arise. Families may purchase tuition insurance through A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. for an additional monthly fee.
An early investment in education has an impact that lasts a lifetime.
